Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Coco Studios ("Coco Studios", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses and protects information in connection with the AnyRemote mobile application (the "App"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We aim to collect as little information as possible. Depending on how you use the App, this may include:
- Local network & device connection data. To discover and control your TV, the App detects compatible Smart TVs and streaming devices on the same WiFi network (for example, device names and local IP addresses). This information is used on your device and your local network to establish the connection.
- Device & technical information. Such as device model, operating system version, app version, language and general (non-precise) region. This helps us provide compatibility and support.
- Usage & diagnostic data. Such as which features are used, app interactions, performance metrics and crash logs, collected through analytics tools to help us fix bugs and improve the App.
- Advertising identifiers. In the free, ad-supported version, advertising partners may access your device's advertising ID to serve and measure ads.
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information.
2. Permissions We Request
The App only requests the permissions it needs, and optional permissions are requested only when you use the related feature — you can decline them and still use the rest of the App.
- Local network / WiFi access — to find and connect to your TV and streaming devices on the same network.
- Microphone (optional) — used only while you actively use the Voice Control feature. Voice input is used to perform your command and is not stored by us.
- Photos, media & storage (optional) — used only when you choose to cast photos or videos, or mirror your screen, to your TV.
- Bluetooth / nearby devices (optional, where applicable) — used to discover and connect to certain devices.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide and operate the App's remote-control, casting and mirroring features.
- Maintain, troubleshoot and improve the App and develop new features.
- Monitor performance, diagnose crashes and prevent abuse.
- Display and measure advertising in the free version of the App.
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. Advertising & Analytics
The free version of the App may display advertisements and use analytics services provided by third parties. These partners may collect or receive information (such as advertising identifiers, device information and app interactions) to deliver, personalise and measure ads and to provide analytics. Services we may use include Google AdMob and Google Analytics for Firebase. You can learn how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
On most devices you can limit ad personalisation by resetting or opting out of your advertising ID in your device's privacy settings.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information with: (a) service providers who process data on our behalf (such as analytics, advertising and cloud/hosting providers); (b) app stores and platform providers (such as Google Play and the Apple App Store); and (c) authorities where required by law or to protect our rights and users. These third parties handle data under their own privacy policies.
6. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as needed to provide the App and for the purposes described in this policy, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Data handled by third-party services is retained according to their respective policies.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to opt out of personalised advertising (including rights under the GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA). To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below and we will respond as required by applicable law.
10. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country or region. Where we transfer data internationally, we take steps to ensure it is protected in line with this policy and applicable law.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
